Ferry Landing Ramp Ends - I made four ramp sections for the Madeline Island Ferry Line, each about 7ft by 7ft. They bridge the gap from the concrete of the town dock to the new ferry landing ramps. I am proud to see a project I built being utilized by my community on a daily basis.
Custom Dock Swing - This project turned out awesome. Designed so the main post can rotate in the tube mounted to the dock, this swing will go the distance! After the welding on this project was complete, I arranged to get the pieces galvanized which will give it a durable finish to protect it from the harsh environment it will live in.
Custom Stove Hood - This stove hood will help disguise that my clients stove pipe is offset from the center of the chimney. The hole for the stove pipe has not been cut yet, but it will enter into the bottom center of the hood, then angle off center into the chimney while staying hidden from view.
Roof Beam Brackets - My client bought some right angle brackets to hold wooden beams in pace for a railing, but needed some custom brackets to match the interior angle of the ceiling.
Ferry Boat Bench Locks - The new ferry boat, MV La Pointe, needed some brackets to keep the benches in place.
Double Angle Railing - I like the look of this simple railing project, and the way it ties the wood and metal materials together.
Turtle Oven - My clients wanted some support beams to hold up the roof of their awesome outdoor oven. They asked for a turtle to be incorporated into the design, and gave me a drawing of what they were looking for. I am glad I was part of an interesting project like this.
Sailboat Hanging - A wall hanging that looks out over the lake, this sailboat looks in motion while standing still. I like how it is mounted away from the wall so the shadow it casts becomes part of the visual appeal.
Fireplace Paneling - This entire fireplace was wrapped in 5" wide sheet metal panels. Due to the two tapered faces, every corner piece on those edges needed to be pie cut and welded to sit flush. My clients chose to have the panels finished with an aged-copper colored metal stain. Even though this project was out of the ordinary for me, I am very happy with how it turned out.
Lightning Railing - This was a challenging project. In the end it was installed without a hitch and looks great. This is the kind of quality I want to represent.
Beach Railing - Over 25 feet in length, but nice and sturdy. This railing has a great view! My phone died before I could take the completed picture, stay tuned.
Shackle Base - This was not my design, but I like the way it turned out! A cool base highlighting two very large hand forged shackles. Notice the bookshelf uprights behind it are from a project I did previously.
Boat and Paddle Board Rack - A nice strong rack that holds two kayaks and two paddle boards.
Battleship Grill - My client was tired of replacing cheap grills made of thin metal, so I made the battleship of all outdoor grills for him.
Kitchen Utility Table - This tabletop was made by a company that decided to use an obsolete sized tubing. We can fix that! Even though the table had nothing to do with a car, I still managed to use this project to practice my roll cage work!
Bookshelf Uprights - One serious bookshelf! The framework took 576 individual 1-inch welds! Complimented by large 2"x12" maple shelves.
Space Age Base - This is what it looks like when a metal worker makes a table base for himself. That's right, this one is all mine!
Cross X Base - I like the lines on this one! The design was adapted from a coffee table base made out of wood by an unknown artist, the dimensions were changed to make a custom dining room table base. The top that is pictured on this base isn't what it was made for, but it helps show how nice this project turned out.
Elevator Panels - These aluminum panels are getting veneered with Ancient Kauri and then getting installed in an elevator in Japan. They needed a few tabs welded onto the back to keep the face of the panels aligned.
Kauri Hang - If you'd rather not make a table, hang it on your wall! Cool earthquake-proof bracket system to hold these Ancient Kauri slabs on the wall.
Clean Base - Named not only because its made of stainless, but I like the clean lines on this base and how it comes together at the corners.
Two Squared Base - This was a cool looking base when it was finished. Pay no attention to the Hot Rod Shop behind the curtain...
Beehive Hanging - A bee hive made from sheet metal to adorn an arch over a driveway. Unfortunately this image doesn't capture the details of this very fun project that turned out great!
Infinity Base - Well more like half an infinity, but that's too big of a number. This was a fun one to make!
The Big One - This table base is bigger than most Hot Rod frames! Customer requested modifications to leg width mid-project. That's the nice thing about custom metalwork, you get exactly what you want!
Three Post Table Base - The three uprights are 1/2 plate!
